Getting a startup off the ground is hard, especially in digital health. The healthcare system is highly complex, and digital applications navigate tremendous cybersecurity risks. You need to generate interest from HCPs or patients and evaluate their willingness to pay. The stakes are just as high as the hurdles. Diabetes Center Berne researches new approaches to treating diabetes together with its research partner, the Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, Bern University Hospital, University of Bern (UDEM). Its aim is to develop innovative technologies to combat this disease. The research institute is located in the sitem-insel building, directly on the Inselspital (University Hospital of Bern) campus.

For our digital session in October 2021, we have invited Loulia Kassem, co-founder and CEO of Rea, a Swiss MedTech startup innovating technologies for preterm birth diagnostics to share her tips and insights on how to start a new venture in digital healthcare.
